6-11-08  update:

Junior B boys team wins MYLA championship over Lutherville!  Congratulations to all players, led by coaches Fradkin & Scharff!!

Practice fields are still available until June 13. Shortly after this date goals will be removed.

A note about post-season tournament play: Games are much shorter than normal with running time & fewer time-outs. Some teams pick up extra players for tournaments which may affect positioning of players and playing time for some.  While we encourage all coaches to be as fair as possible with playing time, it is more difficult for substitutions, and these games are often quite hectic & different from the regular season.

Don't forget: game jerseys from all players must be returned - please give to your coach after the last game.

Reminder: At the first sight or sound of lightning/thunder all players should urgently leave fields to a secure shelter.  A waiting period of 30 minutes is required from the last sight or sound of lightning/thunder before returning to fields for games or practice.

Practice Update: ***Note that baseball activity, when scheduled, takes precedent over lacrosse beginning at 7:00pm on the Hannah More field closest to Reisterstown Elementary/lower parking lot.***  That leaves only 3 goal areas (two lighted) for Lightning & older, plus one area (small sided field with 2 goals) for Tykers, after 7:00pm.  If practice is scheduled to finish by 7:00 on your assigned nights, your team should never have a field problem since we have 6 goal areas.  Several coaches have varied from their original time slot assignments, which will become a problem for your team now as we share this field space with other activities.

Note: It is our hope to accept every child, but there may be situations where the registrations exceed the practical number of players allowed per team. In this instance priority will be given to those who played the previous year in our program, and to those who live in an area served directly by the Reisterstown & Owings Mills Rec Councils. We do not deposit checks until we know space will be available for your child.

Outdoor practices begin after March 1. Some age groups may have indoor evaluations/tryouts in February & parents will be notified if this applies to your child. Depending on a coach's preference, there may be as many as 3 practices per week during March, typically 1 or 2 weeknights plus Saturday.
We cannot give more specifics until team and field assignments are confirmed.

Games begin approx. the first weekend in April. Schedules are not available until just before the season begins. Typically games are held on either Saturdays or Sundays, with some weeknight games added later in the season. This is a travel league for all ages with games in the Baltimore Metro area and requires a commitment to attend practices & games.

Team placement for all skill levels is available; beginner thru advanced.
Two birth years are grouped into one age bracket for team placement:

Beginner's Basics Registration Form

In prior years we have had enough registrants to have separate boys & girls divisions, so please pass the word to any friends or schoolmates who may be interested! Fun, fitness, and skill development is the priority.

Practices will begin in early April & games begin soon after. All registrants will be notified when schedules are developed, so please be patient. Activities take place mostly on Sunday afternoons between 12 & 6. Rainouts may require sometimes playing on another day. Also, some coaches in prior years have held optional weeknight practices & clinics.
All activity is in the Reisterstown area; there is no travel.
